Ultra Temporary Enclosure for "Work"
Hey guys,
I have the benefit of having a boss that is SUPER cool. He knows that I have snakes, and I've asked about having them delivered to the Hub around here and picking them up, and since I live a good bit away, I need an Ultra Temporary storage solution with heat.
I am thinking about taking two tubs that fit inside each other. Lining the larger one with Insulation and having my Heat Tape in there, then a layer of thick plastic to keep the flex watt off the inner tub. A little bedding and a hide and run a dimmer off the Heat Tape.
Any thoughts? This would need to keep said snake warm for maybe 5 hours while I finish out my work day before my drive home.
Thanks in advance!
Paul

When we were coming back from the Daytona trade show, we stayed at a local hotel and brought out new critters in our room. I kept them in their original containers because of easy to transport and less contact with the new snake/less stress. I covered the top with a small towel to keep things dark for them, place them half way on a heat mat + t-stat so they can move back and forth for heat, and kept them in a room with little to no draft, like the closet. Idk for 5 hours you would need to do all that. I have seen those who travel with their reptiles often for educational shows use similar methods. But I don't know how cold your office is so the insulation may be necessary. The room temp I had the critters in was about 78F.
Also, since you would need to quarantine them anyway, you should stay with paper towels for bedding.
