I started keeping BP's since a year or so and have collected 20 pretty awesome snakes with very cool genes. Of these 4 females are 1600-3000 grams and 3 males are > 550 grams, so I'm really hoping for some clutches my first season.
Now, all snakes are healthy and eating without problems. Temperatures are 82 in the front and 89 in the back of the tubs. (no cooling). The last week I put the 3 males with 3 females for 3 days aaaaaand...... nothing happens..... They lay next or on top of eachother but no locks.
Hence some questions:
1) Do locks usually happen the first time, or does this also happen after more pairings?
2) Is there anything I can do to raise the odds on locks?
3) Say one does 100 pairings. In what percentage do locks happen in the first pairing and in what percentage do locks never happen?
In the meantime I'll just stay patient keep pairing them every 3 weeks or so.
Thanks!
