    Heat pad with tub

So ive got a question i know with glass you have to space your tank so heat can escape. does the same apply for tubs?. Because when i put the tub on a tiny bit of it doesent touch the tub fully. Now when people use racks they just make grooves for pads to sit in or whatever from what i hear and heat cable i might be mistaken. Im only asking because when a heavy ball sits on tub its obviously going to get hotter as its pressing against pad verses not pressing fully. Now thats going to raise temps so ur not getting an accurate read when there isnt weight added. So does it need to be spaced from the object it sits on or can it lay flat on it both?

I don't think you do. I never spaced my tub when I was using it for my ball python. Now I got a baby Morelia in a tub and I didn't space it either.
