i have my ball in a 55gal tank with one side at 95% and 85% on the other the thing is though is above his home on the cool side is another hide box which is around 75% and he's been up there for a week now and is refusing to eat,does any one have any ideas why he's doing this?

He's probably refusing to eat because the cool air on the cool end of the tank is slowing his metabolism and making him not hungry. Try upping the cool side to 82-84 degrees and keeping the hot side 90-95.

Is he cruising the cage or just sitting?

When they are "out and about" does that usually mean they are hungry or could it just be that they feel like checking stuff out.

If it's a male and they are too cool and cruising around it's likely that the cool temps sent them into "breeding mode" which is a common reason for fasting.

Are you talking about humidity (%) or temperature (degrees)? How old is he, how long have you had him/her, has he ever eaten for you, what kind of thermometer do you have (digital, stick on analog, etc), where are you measuring temps, what shape are your hides (some bps prefer round hides), are they too big (hides need to be low and snug).....provide a little more info and we'll better be able to help. Got any pics of your setup?

I have a female but sometimes i definitly notice that she is moving around more times the others. Sometimes i thnk tht she is looking for food because when she does this sometimes its when she is going to be fed within a day or so. But sometimes she just likes to explore i think. Or she just moves to the cool side.

he's just balled up in his cold hide all day,but i caught him moving around last night.

he's about four years old and i got him from a guy who couldnt take care of him kept him at low temps and didn't feed him.i've had him for about a year now and he is reguarly fed and kept warm,but i just bought him a new 55gal tank and i've had problems with heating i have a ceramic heatting element on one side keeping the tank at 95% and on the other i have a large uth heater on 85%on this same side i have a upper level which is a wooden box set in side his tank so he could hide in the box or above the box,on the box is a half cut log normally kept at 75% which is now being kept warmer do to that he's been sitting up there.
