He must pushed open the lid and broke the latch (it was old) I can't find him anywhere I put a box I had a mouse in under a box and hopefully he will find it... I'm in ohio and its a bit chilly outside now any ideas where he is?

my advice is to check in the littlest places possible... you'd be amazed where a snake can curl up
other than that, i'm sorry but i don't have any advice.. i have yet to lose a snake *knocks on wood*

Reptile Dysfunction
Every time a snake escapes, it provides fuel for the arguments of those who want to ban the ownership of exotic animals, including reptiles. Besides, members of the general public have a right to live without the unexpected visit of an escaped snake in thier yard or home. Please be a responsible snake owner for all our snakes. -Pg. 16 of The Ball Python Manual.
Sorry about your loss of him/her.

Generally they will be found within 10 feet of their enclosures, often someplace you think they couldn't possibly fit. Just keep checking, spend a lot of time near where he escaped, especially at his usual active times, and check every little thing. Good luck to you! I have one escaped at the moment, too, but his room is clear enough it's very easy to determine that he's not in there.

Check warm places too ... Heat is like a magnet to ball pythons ... behind radiators, hot water heaters, clothes dryers, etc.
Good luck!

That makes perfect sense. Really, it does. Yet every time I have ever found an escaped ball python, it has been someplace cold (bathroom floor, desk drawer, top of metal file cabinet, etc.). *shrug* Maybe it's just something about my snakes ...

Search links broken (again?)
search at night, they tend to roam around at night.
Adam's nailed it about warm places. My corn got out one day and I found him under the fridge.
good luck

I agree Marla, you do have to look everywhere!
I've been really lucky though, only one escape ever. He was a hatchling from my first homemade rack. I really suck at building stuff! ... LOL
