My bp usually just kinda hangs out in his hides but the last 2 days he has been all over the tank, flipping his hides over, pushing on the tank lid (trying to get out i'm guessing) anb burrowing in his substrate. I've had him for almost 3 weeks. He shed and ate last week. His feeding time is today so I thought he was hungry but he didn't show any interest in food lastnight. Any ideas on his new behavior??

He's about 4 1/2 months old. I've tried feeding him again today and 4-5 times he would strike the f/t rat pup coil it up then slither away. I have noticed that if it's not warm enough he doesn't want anything to do with it.

Gah. I'd almost be ready to trade you on that one. Issa is staring at the dead mouse waiting for it to get up and move again. He's been in strike position for several hours now (he hit it as soon as I got it on tongs into his cage..and then he worked a tiny bit of excess substrate out of his mouth. I usually feed outside of his cage, but this is an exception...I'd continue with more details, but I don't want to hijack the thread) Hopefully there will be no mouse by morning.

lucky, I guess you'll have to give him a week and then try feeding him again. Maybe next time he'll take it.

Schlyne, go ahead and post away I don't mind!
Chief did finally eat, I think the problem was the rat wasn't warm enough. He also has to have his food moving before he shows any interest in it, so I would suggest moving it around with the tongs. That is probablly why he hit it when you put it in his cage it appeared to be moving to him. As for the substrate i just lay down some newspaper before I feed him to avoid him swallowing any.
