wood heat transfer

I was thnking of building a new enclosure for my BP out of melamine or some other kind of wood. How well does heat tranfer on wood, ie: if I use an UTH would it even help heat the enclosure?

Using UTH with wooden cages is tough. I'm not really a big fan (tried it and didn't like it). When I used to do wooden cages I liked radiant heat panels. They're safe, work great, and don't dry the air out .... I like them a lot better than putting CHE's or bulbs inside a wood cage.

Just something to consider.

I agree with adam factoring in safety and heat element longevity heat panels are worth every penny

what about providing "belly heat"?
