Well, I'd have to go with Persephone, my aussie water python. She isnt my first snake, not my most expensive snake, or even my most beautiful snake, but she is my most intelligent snake, and the one with the biggest personality. She is tempermental, and demands respect, and seems to truly "study" people in the room, she acts like no reptile I've ever owned. She will actually sits and watches people from her branch in her cage, seemingly for her own amusement. She is a somewhat rare species in the us, and I can't help but wonder if all water pythons act this way, or if it's just her. I don't have a pic of her on photobucket yet, but gave her as my avatar pic.

I got Olivia back in December during my forum sabbatical. Maybe I’ll start a thread?
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.
1.2 Coastal Carpet Pythons
Mack The Knife, 2013
Lizzy, 2010
Etta, 2013
1.1 Jungle Carpet Pythons
Esmarelda , 2014
Sundance, 2012
2.0 Common BI Boas, Punch, 2005; Butch, age?
0.1 Normal Ball Python, Elvira, 2001
0.1 Olive (Aussie) Python, Olivia, 2017
Please excuse the spelling in my posts. Auto-Correct is my worst enema.

Your description is very similar to my Aussie Olive Python.
To the untrained eye the Water Python looks like a smaller version of the Olive. I’ve always wondered just how closely related the two species are.

Olivia at 5 months

Re: If You Could Only Keep One Snake, Which Would It Be?
So difficult.
I love all my animals tremendously. Regarding snakes, I love Shayna (BP) for her beauty and temperament, Figment (Corn) for his ease of care and calm demeanor, and Behira (my BCI) for her more advanced care, her adult size, and her puppy dog tame, but fearless, way about her (when food isn't involved).
I am really torn. I think Behira is my most impressive snake and my favorite to hold. She balances looks, size, temperament, and will be a challenge as an adult (size alone). So, I would probably say her, but really, there's a reason I have 3 snakes and 6 reptile tanks!
OP, why such a tough question?

@Aedryan, this is TOUGH!!!!
Ugggghhh, if it came down to it I would have to keep Django, my King.
But Cosmo would be really tough to see go, I feel like he and I found each other, hahahaha. This stinks!! Tyson and Juice would be super hard to say goodbye to as well. I absolutely LOVE each of my snakes for different reasons, hence choosing to keep different species...ugggh!!!
Django stays. I've always loved Kings. They were the snakes that got me into snakes. He was my first after getting back into keeping snakes. Kings are easy to care for, NEVER skip a meal and Django handles extremely well. And he's the only one of my current snakes who's tagged me. So we have that bond too...

Not sure how old she is, but she bears scars on her body and an old injury in her right eye that did not go away after her first shed with me. Regardless, she has the best temperament for a snake than any other snake I know. I would post pics but I don't know how.
I would love to see your King!! Kings are my all time favorites, if I actually HAD to choose, my King would be staying too.
Many of us use the free app Tapatalk to upload pics. Super easy and free

@Reinz. Well, both are in the genus liasis, and from what I've heard olives are known to be intelligent like this, so I'm willing to bet the whole genus act like this. Beautiful snake you got there.
