What's this sticking out of my Burms mouth?

I found this soft, translucent strand sticking out of my Burm's mouth.

She looks and acts fine but does anyone know what it is? Is she going into shed?

I also noticed her bottom lip has some dark pigment on it now that matches the colour of the stripe on next to her eyes. Is this normal colour change as Pearls grow? I noticed the top of her head is turning peach on the sides of the 'arrow' shape too. If that makes sense?

Thats a piece of old shed...
As far as color they will totally change as they grow. 90% do. Other colors can show more and some will fade.

Ok cool. I was wondering if that colour was mouth rot or something similar. Cheers mate.

I was more worried because she had some bark in her mouth when I fed her two feeds ago but I got it out before she swallowed it. I feed over a paper plate now.

Ha ha thanks mate, her name is Kaiju. I had a couple Corn snakes when I was a teen but I recently got out of the military and decided to get a baby Burm.

They are big snakes but I'm raising her from a hatchling so my experience will grow with her.

I'm British but I served alongside some of your USMC guys in Afghanistan. Loved visiting the chow hall on camp Leatherneck ha ha.

This tank is 4 x 2 feet made of laminated wood. Kind of similar to flat packed Ikea and then sealed. These are the main enclosures we use here in the UK.

It was listed for £160 / $222.37 but I got it in the January clearance sale for £60 / $83.38. They are definitely over priced tbh.

This enclosure will probably last 1 year. After that I have planned to build my own custom enclosure but I recently found a UK company who make plastic enclosures similar to the ones you guys have so I might go that route.

Obviously when she gets bigger her enclosure will be a lot simpler. Big snakes = big poops ha ha.

A lot of people seem to rehome Burms when they grow large but I have planned for the future. I don't see why someone would buy an animal if they aren't prepared to look after it for the animal's whole life.

I'm looking forward to 30 years with this girl. This is why I'm not going to get any other snakes as for me it's realistic to have only one that grows this large.

That seems like a great price for that enclosure. I think its really nice looking. If AP could have a PVC look like that id love it.

... life sometimes changes for people..A lot of us started young, so a Burm at 17 years old is a lot different once your 35/40 and its now 120lbs...wife, kids, traveling jobs etc..
Its better to do it like you are and your life is already in order.
