One day maybe try some orchid bark / ReptiBark substrate ... It makes the snake colours stand out lovely ...looks more natural than aspen , holds humidity really well ( which aspen certainly doesn't ) humidity is great for Royals / Balls . Plus it doesn't get all over the house carpets like aspen does ....
Umm...take the sticky temp gauge out. Nothing sticky goes into an enclosure, ever. No tape, nothing sticky. I have seen snakes get stuck to those and had to deal with it myself. Please take it out. It can harm your snake.

It actually already happened some days ago from climbing on it. Luckily it wasn't bad & caught it right when it happened. It's been out ever since then.

Yeah I'm trying aspen but I don't like it too much. Still got little over a half of bag though.
