Little cut on my poor baby, advice??
Hi everybody!
I'm fairly new here and I am also the new owner of my first ball python. When doing my research and such before getting him I got a lot of my info from here so I decided to become a member!
I'm also having a little trouble finding trustworthy advice for my first problem. Yesterday (Wednesday), I noticed a small little cut on the right/top side of my poor little guy's neck. It is only about a centimeter long and does not seem like it was too deep, looks like just the top scales. If it bled at all it wasn't very much. I'm guessing it was probably from the mouse I fed him on Tuesday. This was only my second time feeding him and this one put up slightly more of a fight than the first. I've been feeding him live because that is what he ate at the breeder I got him from and I was honestly just so happy he was eating especially just a few days after bringing him home. However, now I am considering switching him over to F/T because I hate seeing that he is hurt.
Anyway, does anyone have any advice they could give me on what to do? Do I need to clean it? If so, with what? Is it serious enough to take him to the vet? If not, at one point should I?
I am just trying to be the best snake momma I possibly can be so he can have a good home. Any input whatsoever is greatly appreciated!!!

You can dab a little bit of triple antibiotic ointment on the cut. Just keep a close eye on it for infection
Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of snarenting

Agree with c0r3yr0s3 ..
Use some Neosporing (without pain relief)
Any sign of it swelling up or starting to look ugly, and you should go to the vet. Animal bites are full of bacteria and can cause infections. But since its a shallow cut, you may be lucky

If you can I'd also recommend getting a hold of Betadine antiseptic to help clean the cut and prevent infections. Just make sure you dilute it.

Snakes are tough. Most likely it will just heal on its own.
