Stuck Urate in Vent?
I recently bought a baby Colombian red tail boa (I know this is the BP forum, I'm just posting here because it will get more attention than on the Boa forum) from a local breeder. She's apparently 7 months old but only 50 grams. She came to me looking quite underweight, but otherwise in good health. The issue right now is it appears she has an infection or something stuck in her vent. I tried taking a picture of it, but she's so small that I couldn't get a good photo of it. It looks like her vent is stuck open and it's pink around the area, and it looks like she is ready to poop and pee again. It also looks like there's possibly something white and powdery stuck in the vent, which I think might be a stuck urate. I discovered it last night and I immediately gave her a good soak in warm water for 30 minutes, then gently tried to remove the white material with my finger, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Is it possible that it is just a stuck urate, or should I be more worried? I'm giving her another good soak, and if it doesn't seem to help, I will make an appointment with a vet.
For the two weeks I've had her, I've given her really good husbandry, making sure her enclosure stays at a good humidity, and she also has 2 water bowls. Since I received her, she has already pooped in her water bowl once on the 29th, ate for the first time on the 30th, then pooped and peed in the substrate (coconut fiber) on February 2nd.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I agree, sounds like constipation and possibly a mild prolapse because the snake can't pass the urates.
I have actually had to help snakes passing a urate before, BUT with a snake THAT tiny and not being 100% sure what the problem is, you should really rather go to a Vet..
The snake should not be that small at this age, that is TINY TINY.
Make sure you feed very small meals, Boa's tend to get problems if fed to much or to often. Of course you need the get the little one going, but do it safely..
If you could post a picture, that would be great, but again, you may need the help of a Vet to safely massage the urate out if its stuck...If the swelling is pink and looks like swollen tissue, don't wait to long. Keep the snake on moist, clean paper towels. IF its swollen tissue, you can carefully apply some thick sugar water, thick to where its syrupy, almost a paste, but still liquid. It keeps the swelling down untill you can get to a vet..
