    Snake noob question

So I don't know if it's something I read when I was younger, but I thought snakes always ate head first. That being said my lil girl seems to eat rear first and I was wondering if it's common. Also doesn't this make swallowing more difficult?
And yes she's all twisted up for some reason.

    Re: Snake noob question

My BP usually doesn't do that, but she has. If the meal is really big, it makes things much harder, but they do figure it out.

My BCI and Corn Snake will often get so excited that they gobble the rodent down any way they can! So, more common with them. However, I feed smaller meals, relative to body size for them. BCI's can grow too fast and you should feed less often and smaller meals, and corn snake adults can get too heavy (so I feed him small meals weekly).

My BP is very shy and usually has a pretty lame feeding response. Most of the time she wants me to put the F/T Rat down and walk away. Then when I come back later it's gone (except for winter - when she basically refuses everything for 4-6 months ). So that may have something to do with it as well.

Either way - as long as they get it down, it's all good.

I used to worry about that but now I'm just happy when they completely kill it before eating it. My corn has some issues and it can be disturbing at times like when it swallows a mouse that is still alive and butt first, it's creepy to say the least

    Oh G-D! That is disgusting.

Your corn won't eat frozen/thawed? Or you prefer to feed live?

    My corn will eat anything.

I prefer live. I'm hoping "it" will grow outta this. I caught it on my back porch so it's wild but very tame and has never struck at me or my kids. I just figure it's a wild trait because it doesn't understand that it'll get fed again in a week. It's starting to actually kill first and the last feeding was interesting because I dropped 2 fuzzies in and it struck one, then wrapped it's tail around it and struck the other and coiled around it at the same time. It swallowed one and kept constricting the other at the same time
