ok im thinking about buying a male BCI for adrian, to breed with adrian. well my question is this.
http://alexhuereptiles.com/Boas/columbian.html
if you go there and look at the description for CAB-1M it says
Possible new line of Pastels. Female adult has produced these similarly appearing offspring for a few generations. This is a male, 465 grams - one year plus old. I would consider this male a B/B- grade animal.
what does the B/B- mean?

0.1 BCI-Adrian
1.0 Burm-Homer
1.0 Tiger Retic-Buster

It looks like the grade of the animal. What i mean by that is,he's giving it a B/B- for quality.
Hope this helps

I think that is just the grading of how nice an animal it is. When it comes to bci's, pastel is just used to describe particularly nice bci's rather than it being any specific gene.
~40 Ball Pythons (mostly Freeway/Asphalt, Bongo, GHI, and Leopard combos)
3.8.3 Green Tree Pythons (mostly TM/TW blueline, a few Highland/Wamena)
1.2 Children's Pythons
1.2 Cay Caulker Boas
1.2 Black Fuli House Snakes
1.0.4 Amazon Tree Boas (1x tiger, 3x halloween garden, 1x garden)

Because of the genetics involved -the breeder feels this is potentially a new line of pastel boa, which IMO involves more selective breeding than anything.

The term pastel is misleading at times. Pastel is NOT a morph! It is a selective bred trait that may or may not be in the offspring. Pastelism is just a reduction of black in most animals and can also mean a yellow wash. The grading system Alex uses is used throughout eh herp business. That ratingis for a really nice snake. anex is a great guy to work with and I gurantee you wuold not be dissapointed in the animal when you saw it in person. Hoep this helps,

Alex is a great guy to deal with. I got Bela from him, and she's the best BP I own.
Nice boa.
