Scale issue...

I had seen a herp w my last bp and she told me a natural remedy for an inflamed hiney hole that sugar helps extract that flame. You make a 'paste' out of it and let it sit for about 15. I only did it for 10 but then put sugar in her baths. Yal think I'm crazy I can tell lol it really works though.

The only reason I'm worried about those spots is bc I have not seen those at all after her Oct shed. But it doesn't look like mites parasites or ticks? I'd go see my herp but I now live in a diff state. She was free lol, I'm a stay at home mom so the less money I can spend the better, but if I have to, trust that I will! This is my first stop for diagnosis.

I have never heard of anything like that, but ok..
They don't look like parasites or anything like to me, just watch your humidity next time she sheds. On a side note, your snake is looking a little thin there, what prey size are you feeding?

Well she's still a juvenile. We give her the live baby rats, sometimes the mice depending on what my store has in. It's the only store in a 50 mile radius that sells live. I've heard about gerbils but then I've heard not to feed them bc they'll shy away from rats and mice

Thank you for your insight! I'll still keep an eye out on her spots. Should I put anything on them like mineral oil or just leave it alone and watch it? Also I do think I'm gonna get a more expensive hydrometer bc this one I don't think is right on the gauges. I see the % but with this issue and her butt it seems like it's not reading accurately. Any advice on brands?

Do you have any idea how big they are? Are they rat pinks, rat fuzzies or pups?

She started out with pinkies, then she now gets fuzzies and pups. It all depends on what I can get there. They have all been no bigger than her biggest section. When they only have the mice I'll get 2 and she'll eat em both, just bc they're smaller. Am I helping? Lol

I've never heard of that sugar thing either...

As for the spots, just make sure your humidity is right, bump it for the shed and it should shed off.
Definitely don't put mineral oil on it.

As for the hygrometer, I use Accurite brand thermometer/hygrometer combo. I get them at Wal-Mart for less than 10 bucks. I have them in all my enclosures.

Also thank you for being nice to me, any time I get on the net I somehow get trolled, HARD. I've had bps before but they came from breeders, not a pet store. Any time I save one from a store, I have issues with them. But duh... I truly thank you for your help! And kindness even when you thought I was crazy for the sugar lol

Will she take f/t? You could order feeders and not have to worry about spotty supply. Also check local reptile groups or local breeders and see if they breed their own feeders.

That's a good idea. How would I find a local group? I had all my connects in AZ but that was years ago. I'm in NC now and the only people around just breed snakes. Idk where to find feeder breeders
