Heat tape or heating pad?

I'm going to be a first time bp owner and I am having trouble on deciding whether to get heat tape or a heating pad for my 15 qt tub. I don't know if it will cause over heating since it is a small tub and what size will be best? Help, please?

Why would either overheat?
Unless you don't run a thermostat, then you will have a problem with either one.
A regulated heat source is not going to cause problems.

But, I will reiterate to stress the importance...
ALL heat sources must be regulated by a thermostat.

This will, first and foremost, prevent heat spikes which can cause serious burns , or worse, to you snake.
A t-stat also makes it simple to adjust and maintain proper temps.

i prefer heat tape for for rack systems and heat pads for stand alone enclosures including a stand alone tub. they are essentially the same thing, just packaged differently.

keep your snake safe by using a thermostat to regulate the heat tape/heat pad and to prevent overheating the enclosure.
