They spread flour all over their kitchen floor in a light coating and placed a live feeder rat in a Rubbermaid bin in the center of the room with numerous holes all over the bin....and sure enough the BP was circling the bin in the morning figuring out how to get at the rat.
The flour leaves any trails he created obviously if he checked out the bin and decided to head out of the area.
It may or may not work, but I can't think of anything as a method besides checking warm areas. DO NOT USE A STICKY TRAP.
Genius, I am doing exactly this next time a snake escapes.
A bit less messy but I guess not as effective, you can spread a line of flour in every doorway, hallway, wherever you want to split the room. So you only have to look at where the flour has been disturbed and dragged in the direction the snake was in. And you'll know what room he currently is in and just search the room.
