    Hatchling flattening herself

I recently got a lesser pastel hatchling from a reptile show and she is doing something I've never seen any of my balls including my other (slightly older) hatchling do. She is flattening herself like a pancake on the bottom of her tub. I'm wondering if it is a fear response (this is what I suspect since she is brand new) or if there may be an underlying issue. She is a bit underweight but I'm not too concerned because she is a july hatchling and I will fatten her up. I don't have a picture because I don't want to go into her tub and bug her during her first week.

I have a similar one. He is a hatchling with a lot of fear, and he is very aggressive and snappy! He has been squished up on top of his hide also. I think it is just a normal response of a tiny reptile baby scared of a HUGE human mammal around.

That's what I thought as well but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a symptom of something larger. As a snake owner it's hard not to worry sometimes 😅.
