What is this?

I have never seen this before and I don't think it's been there for the past week. I didn't handle Mal for two days because I fed him, and just noticed it. It's hard to the touch and right by his pooper. Its brown, small, and almost the shape of a tail or the tip of an ice cream cone. It's hard to see in the photo. His husbandry is good.

It's called a spur, it's normal There should be another one on the other side of the vent. They're used for gripping during mating. Both male and female ball pythons have them.
