Hours and hours. I can't tell from the picture. Is his tail under hers ? If it is it's a good lock

It's looks like they are side by side and not positively locked so for me personally I wouldn't count that as a lock. If they lock the could be like that for a few hours or up to a day and a half.

I checked on them an hour after I put them together. When I opened the container I saw their tails were side by side, then they moved.

    Lock

Looks like they are getting in the mood. I have seen that and had it end up
in a lock. Leave them be. Also, this year I had a lock last for over 72 hours. Most were a day or so. If they are locked I check them three or four times
a day until they unlock and then the male gets to rest.

I wish you the best of luck, doesn't quite look like a lock just yet, though it may eventually turn into one. They're definitely getting friendly.

It's actually a good sign (either just locked or about to) however you are not helping by disturbing and checking on the skin after introducing.
