    checking things out

if my new BP is roaming in his cage climbing on his new plants checking things out is that a sign of a stressed out snake? as thats what i was told, i feel like that would mean he feels comfortable in his cage.

Since you've added to his enclosure, he's just checking things out.

No need to worry. He'll explore for a bit and then settle down when he's ready.

If there had been no change and the snake was doing this then I would say stress. If the behavior continues over a couple days it is stress. You changed its home, it wants to be sure it is still safe. I have seen them have issues with a water bowl changing corners. They get over it. As to the plants, my big girls would have a party with those and proceed to decorate in the way they saw fit. LOL

lol yea he thought all ne stuff was pretty cool, the little trees are already pulled out of the mulch and we had to lower the the one on the side, after about 30 min of exploring he went back to doing what he does best and hanging out in his rock

Like Jodan said, if he's still exploring day and night in a few days, something with your husbandry probably needs tweaking. For now, he's just checking out his new digs.

BPs are more than pet rocks, much to some people's surprise.

Craig and Jodan are definitely right, it doesn't seem like he's constantly roaming during the day. My boy has husbandry in normal ranges and will often come out during daylight hours now that he's comfortable to soak up the sun, get a drink, etc.

Give him thirty to an hour and he's back in his hide.

Suffice to say, unless the daytime roaming is constant and for extended periods, there's little to be concerned about. Sometimes they have distinct preferences and personality: mine's breeder said he prefers the cool side almost constantly, and he does the same here with identical hides and a proper heat gradient. Just what he likes, far as I or anyone else can tell.
