    Hello everybody,
Well, I gotta admit that I think I have been skating along merrily for the past two years - I have my four Ball Pythons ( along with other snakes ) and I have had virtually no problems with any of them. They all eat like pigs and have grown enormously since I purchased them. I think it must really make a great deal of difference if you get your snakes from a good breeder - and if the snake you pick out is a good feeder from the get go. I wish I could afford a digicam as I would sure like to show some pics of my Ball Python family.Hopefully maybe for Christmas this year I will be able to afford a camera and I can start posting pics like everyone else....

But I am sooooo pleased with my Ball Pythons....I have had a great experience learning the ropes of snake husbandry with them.I only wish I could afford one of the pricier morphs for my collection but I gotta admit that I cannot swing what I would like - I would love an albino or maybe a spider Ball but sheesh...$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ya know what I mean !!!

My BPs are great examples of the normal wild coloration and I am very happy with them....

Thankyou bpkid...I am really proud of how well my snakes have done...of course I am probably jinxing myself but so far so good with them.I think if you start off with good specimens and then provide optimum temps and humidity they ( the snakes ) will take care of the rest.

I know what you mean. Before I got my bp, I was worried I wouldn't be able to handle stuff. But the hardest part was setting up the temperatures and humidity. The rest seems to do itself. It just seems....too easy sometimes. I find myself feeling guilty that I don't have to do anything. It's weird...I'll be sitting here thinking "is there anything I can do for Pelota today? Well...her water's clean, temps are fine, humidity is perfect....nope, nothing". Guess that's why I get excited on feeding day. Finally, some action, lol.

Yeah, I ran around for qutie a while trying to make sure that Issa's cage temperatures and humdity were perfect. I set up the jurassic's cage on friday, and it's perfect. All I had to do was buy screening material, a hide and a water dish. I already had the heat pad, accuirate, food, etc

You are so right about getting snakes from a good rbeeder, Eyelash. I have three balls, and here's a bit of info.
Goblin, my adult male, was captive bred (though it was a long time ago, pre '99. The breeder bad an actual photo album with a polaroid of him coming out of the egg! Just had no knowledge of what year.) He is the ideal dream BP; docile, eats great, etc.
Ashes was originally from petco, from a friend of mine; obviously wild caught. he is head shy and pretty timid, and was on a 6+ month hunger strike when I got him last year. Thankfully he now eats, but he is still timid and really headshy.
Bela, I bought from Alex Hue, a great breeder out of Michigan. She has never refused a f/t meal since I got her last spring. My all-around easiest ball to feed.
    BUY CAPTIVE BRED!

Guess what? I am switching to frozen as soon as we decide wich size and how many mice to get! I was origannly feeding frozen but they discontinued frozen mice at my petshop, so I had to feed live.

    Crazy darn Garter Snakes

If it was me, and my pet shop didn't sell frozen thawed, I'd buy the mice live, whack them, and either feed prekilled, or freeze them myself. Simple.
