Adult in side water bowl for days on and off
I got her a month ago.
She ate after I left the ft rat with her at night. Then ate again. Then sat in water bowl for a week. Then ate again and was out of the water bowl. Now didnt eat and for 72 hours inside water bowl. Not only that most of her head is......I even thought she was dead but she flickers her tang in the water and responds to my touches.... Any idea? No shed by the way and eyes are clear. When she was out of the water and when I got her she seemed 100% healthy to me

Excess soaking CAN be a sign of MITES !?!?
Try wiping the snake thoroughly with a few sheets of damp paper kitchen roll as any mites will show up real easy if there are any ...

Typical reasons for soaking:
Mites
Not enough humidity
Too hot
Insecure and using the water bowl as a hide

And yet another reason a snake will soak in their water bowl is because they want to. Every snake I have ever owned enjoyed an occasional dip now and then.

I'd normally agree with you but I've never seen or even heard of any Royal / Ball python soaking in a bowl before shedding - my others ... Burm , Boas , Retics , Kings/ Corns have all been known to have an occasional soak before they actually shed .
The only times I've heard of Balls /Royals soaking were to cool down or mites ...

I have had females soak for about a week when they were building. It was usually before they had ovulated. These were girls that never soaked like that before or after. It wasn't mites or being overheated or lack of humidity. Do you know if your girl had been paired this year?

Fair enough ... I have zero experience of breeding snakes ...
