Not sure if this is a sign of stress?

So I've had my BP for 2 weeks I think and he ate for me the first time but didn't eat the second attempt (he was in shed). His husbandry has been pretty good, the temps are 80 and 89-91. Humidity is a bit high though, but I read somewhere that if there's no dampness it's fine. It's usually around 60%, but the humidity where I live suddenly raised and it's around 70% now. He's in a 15 qt tub and has 2 hides and a water bowl changed every other day, and I haven't handled him much at all except to weigh him and and check after his shed.

Okay, with that out of the way: I came home and I saw him curled in the corner behind his hide, having pushed it away. He's right where the hide was. Is there a reason he did that? Is he stressed?

Looks fine. They do that some times.

But, I am going to give you the following comment: Block off 3 of the sides from light, and hopefully the top of the enclosure is opaque. Extra special super comfy ball python, the enclosure is a hide, the hide is a hide. Hide hide hidy hide
    Ball Pythons 1.1 Lesser, Pastel
1.0 Lesser Pastel, 0.0.7 mixed babies

    So he just derped
I have a mini curtain that is usually closing off the tub (which is under my desk) from everything else. Is that good enough?

Depends. Is the enclosure bordered on the sides? If it's bordered on the sides, and the back, and you have a curtain in front, holy hide-y-ness batgirl, you're snake is living in luxury

    Hi .

What are you using to check the temps ( especially the ones in/ under) the hide ??

    What type of thermometer ?

Yup, what Zinc said. Your BP might be too warm underneath the hide so pushed it out of the way. But, could just be a BP doing what BPs do. If your temps are accurate I wouldn't sweat it. If your temps are inaccurate then you know where to do some tweaking and go from there.

I have an AcuRite with a probe under the hide under the substrate, and the actual unit measures ambient temp and humidity on the cool side. I'm also hoping to buy a temp gun soon

were those other pieces of paper towel substrate always crumpled? sometimes snakes will push substrate away. i sometimes find my BP laying on nothing b/c they pushed their coco husk substrate all away. sometimes I find the babies have crumpled and pushed their paper towel substrate all to one side. they all sometimes move and destroy the stuff in their homes – whether it be substrate, décor, etc. – as they slither around and go about being derpy lil herps. a stressed BP will act out in more than one way if it is stressed.
