Escapee
My nephew was visiting Tuesday night and was looking at one of my sub adult bp's. Apparently he didn't close the rack tight enough and my blackhead female goy out. I noticed it Tuesday morning.
The part that sucks is that I'm getting ready for a move come 8/31 so I have a ton of half packed boxes around my room and in my walk in closet.
I always keep my door shut and it has a stopper on it. The only other way out of my room would be down the heating duct, but I'm pretty sure she'd have gotten stuck if she tried. I've gone through everything twice. My nephew came back to help look and I'm at a loss. We're going to put down corn starch tonight and set out a warm spot besides the snake rack, but I'm losing hope.
Any tips from others in this situation?

I know it sounds obvious, but have you checked under the rack itself?

There's no hole to the bottom (right? ), so I haven't. Is the AP 7 shelf sterile rack.

- check under warm, dark places. places you might not expect such as under a refrigerator or oven. when moving furniture be careful, if the snake is hiding in it you could crush it.
- put a heat pad (connected to a thermostat) in the middle of the room on the floor. if you put a bin over it you could also leave a rat/mouse there... see if they eat it, see where the trail leads.
- even though you have already looked through everything various times, look again. if you were a snake, where would you be? somewhere dark, and warm. check the boxes again... check inside shoes, wrapped in clothes, etc.
- are you sure the snake couldn't have escaped under the door
- when snakes escape they usually don't go far. the best quote i have heard in regards to finding a lost snake is "you will never not find a missing snake. look through EVERYTHING. look through everything again. dedicate a whole day, two days, etc to finding this snake and you WILL find it. take your time and start looking in places you might not have thought of before."

In my room I don't have any appliances of which to soak besides a wall mounted tv and a computer.
I have checked the living room and kitchen a little. The kitchen is across the house so I don't think she'd go there. The couple places I didn't look yet are places I don't think she could reach, but I'll check them tomorrow anyway.
I spent all day today looking for her and went down and removed some hearing ducts to see if she was there.
I've not cleared the closet out, but that's on the game plan for tomorrow. That and maybe tearing up a chair. I got the nephew thinking as well.
She was hungry before she escaped, so I'm hoping the rest attracts her.
Should I try a live mouse as well?

Ugh, went through all the boxes again. Took apart some heating duct. Left a rat out on a heat mat and cornstarch around the house and no sign. I'm baffled.

You mean Wednesday morning?
Try looking within five-ten feet of the tank. I found one of my balls under my computer and I didn't even think to look there (I looked INSIDE the computer lol.)

Did you pull the rack drawers out? I've searched entire rooms to end up finding the snake only made it 1' from its tub and was chilling squished next to another tub on the heat tape between the rack wall and tub.

I've pulled out the tubs and looked under my computer, too. I've searched that 5 to 10 feet a hundred times. I have a live mouse and two warm spots in my room. I have the box the mouse came in in my living room. I was told to brain a ft rat as well and to stop moving things.

A live mouse IN A CAGE ... may attract it back to the room plus I've heard many a escapee located by sprinkling talcum powder or flour all around as it shows all their tracks and movements ..
