Feeding During Shed??
Hey guys. I picked up my first Ball Python 5 weeks ago. So far everything has gone smooth with the exception that I could not get him to except f/t. I was offering food every 3-4 days for the first two weeks and he should zero interest. After no luck with f/t I reluctantly offered a live fuzzy and he slammed it before it even hit the ground.
He has had three successful feeds since ive had him. While I was changing out his water last night, I noticed he is in blue. Now I've read before that alot of BPs will not except food while in shed. So my question is this, should I offer, or wait until he has completed his shed? If he would take f/t it wouldn't be a question, but seeing as he only takes live, if he doesnt except it, I'm not sure what I would do with a little fuzzy. Thanks guys.

I think this would be a good opportunity to switch him over to F/T if that's what you prefer. I would personally hold off on feeding until his shed is complete. This should put him at probably 10 days or more since last feeding. At this point I would offer the F/T prey. If he refuses, wait a week and try again. Keep handling to a minimum throughout the shed process and until he's accepting F/T readily.

Re: Feeding During Shed??
I think that is the route I'm going. Right now feedingive doesnt bother me much, but I worry once he requires larger food items, that injury might occur. Thank you for the help!
