    Rocks from my driveway okay??

So my kids want to make a hide for my BP that's coming next week and I really don't feel like spending $20 on a bag of rocks from the pet store.. I had them collect a bucket of different sized rocks from the backyard that I had dumped for my driveway... If I spray them off really good and soak them in bleach would they be okay to silicone to a plastic bowl or Tupperware to make a cool looking hide..

Depends on the type of rock. But in general, yes.

If you clean them well, why not !

Make sure you have no sharp edges and also leave no gaps large enough for a head to squeeze in. A snake head, lol.
Also let the glue fumes air out a bit, and if you use large rocks, make sure they can't come loose and fall on the snake..

Re: Rocks from my driveway okay??

I would pour some boiling water on them, not boil the rocks, just dump the water on them, instead of bleach as im a little paranoid when it comes to anything that comes in contact with my snakes but if bleach is safe then go for it

I bake my rocks at 250 (more than enough to boil water). Some types of rock may pop in the oven (never happened to me).

I have boiled them before (again they can pop when boilinh, plus you get a very hydrated rock).

5% Bleach Solution soak works well, just make sure you rinse it and dry it
