    Question How thick do ball pythons get?

    Just wondering how wide the average adult ball python will grow to be. Trying to figure out how big an entry hole for a hide should be when they are adults. For anyone willing to measure;

    1. How wide is your bp in diameter and circumference?
    2. How many grams does your bp weigh?
    3. How old is your bp?

    0.1 Russian Rat Snake (Melanistic) Kallari (RIP)

    The biggest one is 4000 grams, thicker than a coke can and 5 years old.

    I have several in the 3000 grams and most in the 2500 grams range.

    Size vary from one animal to another I have a 10 years old that has never been over 1800 grams. Generics and the individual itself plays a big part.

    Re: How thick do ball pythons get?

    My biggest girl is just over approx 50" long and weighs around 3kg. She is easily about 1.5 coke cans fat and fits through a standard large black plastic hides with no worries. I find the tighter fit the entrance, the more at ease they feel xx

    Angry

    It totally depends on if you're getting a male or female. Females typically are a lot bigger.

    My adult males are something like 1200g and 1000g, and they're about 2" thick. They're 2 years and 1.5 years old. My female 2000g is maybe 3 inches, and 5 years old. But they can fit into smaller holes than themselves.

    I think it depends on how often you feed them and what size prey they will take. Feeding big prey often leads to big fat snakes LOL.
