Weird encounter
I want o know your opinion on this. Today I found a post of someone selling a snake, I feel confused because I have never rejected a pet for a medical condition, but somehow I feel this is not a pet that should be on sale. On the contrary I tend and spend good money in giving them the best life money can afford. Example of this were my dog allergies, I had to buy special food and make her a series of exams and buy some shots to help control her allergies.
Back on track, on this post the seller give the impression that this snake is extremely rare and exotic and only for serious avid collectors...
He states that:
-fiscally in excellent condition
-eating regularly
-1 meter long

Thanks for your opinion.

Two headed snakes are rare, esp. if they survive. I expect the price is very high, but if someone is willing to pay it, and can give it a good home, why not? It not as if someone could breed this animal on purpose.
IIRC, out of all the breeding Brian Barczeck (spell??) has done, he produced one once, sold it, and later bought another, because he regretted selling the first.

It's not something I'd be interested in but def pretty cool.

I also don't think it should be sold at a high price and made out to be "exotic and rare". It's a deformity, and as such, nobody has any idea if the snake is in "excellent condition" or not or how long it will even live. It should be sold just as other deformities are, with a reduced price (or free) as a pet.

My point is that as a deformity buying it would be pure morbidity, like going to the circus to see the bearded woman and stuff like that... I get it is just an animal but still deserves some respect and profiting of the morbidity of a medical condition I thing is very low. In my opinion, like I said before all I'm interested is in peoples opinions

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as the new owner will give it a good home. This is rare, though not necessarily something you would want to breed for. I'm pretty sure if you are interested in buying a two headed snake that you realize it's a deformity. If you don't, then you have no business buying it. I agree that the seller should have said something about possible medical issues.

But we buy dogs based on their characteristics, don't we? A three legged dog, which was born missing a limb, may be a deformity, but that doesn't say it shouldn't be sold/adopted out. I understand your point but must respectfully disagree. The animal feels no disrespect, and if it is treated well, it's only the owner's business if they bought the snake based on the deformity. I would actually love this guy if I had room or time for more snakes and the resources to take care of such an unusual snake.

I've seen these go for stupid money. They're rare enough that I would do a Google search on the pictures and make sure the seller actually has the animal, and it's not a scammer.

If there were a formal auction for it, it would be sold to the highest bidder. I don't see anything wrong with that.
Seems to me similar to other rarities, like chalk white blue eyed gators, or lion/tiger hybrids. Two heads happen by accident, fortunately, they can't be bred for, so the trait won't be perpetuated. I'm much more bothered by people who purposefully breed detrimental traits into animals - like extreme short muzzles in Boxers, for example. However, that said, as a goldfish fancier, most of the fish I buy are fish with detrimental deformities, so logically my own stance is hypocritical.

Agree.
If from some anonymous seller, I would be very suspicious, and would want to inspect the animal in person before purchase.
