Another snake mites thread....mites around the eyes.

I've searched through the previous threads about mites and there's a chance the answer was in one of those posts and I missed it but in my defense there are a ton of threads about mites. Now I'm just adding to the mountain but haven't found the answer I'm looking for.

My BP has mites and I've treated the tub once so far with PAM. I'm not seeing the mites crawling on her body but they all seem to be in and around her eyes. I was soaking her while waiting for the PAM to arrive and read in one post that the mites move to the eyes because of the soaks. Will the mites, dead or alive come out of the eyes when she sheds again? I'm not about to try and remove them but wasn't sure if there's anything that can be done other than wait it out and continue to spray PAM every few weeks until they are gone.

The PAM (provent a mite... I hope lol) should do he trick. Eventually the mites will leave the snake. You are right to not try and pick them out of the eyes. They will be gone eventually.

Do you have a picture? I know it's kind of hard to photograph them.

Provent a mite? I thought it was the cooking spray that people swore by....?

Kidding lol but I'll get a picture tonight or try at least. She's a black pewter so it's hard to make them out in a picture but I'll see what I can do. It's more frustrating than anything how something so small can cause such aggravation and zap the energy from them.

Ya know, I just saw the preview of that message on tapatalk and my heart skipped a beat!! Thanks for the morning wake up scare

Mites suck. I've fortunately only had to deal with them once or twice. One round of PAM and I never saw them again! Do you have her on white paper towels so you can see the mites?

Good morning! Lol I'm not a morning person so I'm just making sure everyone else is up with me.

This is my 1st encounter with them and thankfully she was the only one who has them. She is on white paper towels. So much easier to clean up. I've seen a few on the paper but none recently. Tough little buggers.

Unfortunately Nisha had a regurg from her last meal which turned fatal. I can't say for certain what caused the regurg or if she was ill before I got her from the breeder who has turned out to be extremely unreliable and sketchy but she won't be suffering any longer.
