    My BP won't hide

I picked up a baby female BP pinstripe over the weekend about 75g and it's the weirdest thing. She refuses to go in her hides. At first I thought her enclosure was to big including the hide boxes so I set her up a 10qt tube with two smaller hides and still she is out and about 24/7. I have a 12 tube rack and she is on the same self with two other BP's, husbandry is spot on, and still she doesn't go in her hides. I thought she might be hungry so I offered her a f/t rat pinky and when she wouldn't eat that two days later I offered her a live mouse fuzzy, still wouldn't eat. My other 8 BP's sometimes do weird things but not hiding is a new one to me.

    What are your thoughts?

    Re: My BP won't hide

Is she constantly roaming or is she sleeping out in the open? My guess if your husbandry is perfect then she's probably just a little unique. Occasionally I'll observe mine 'sleeping' outside their hides, if nothing in the viv hasn't changed I'll usually leave them to it. Just keep an eye on everything and as long as everything's good health wise then I'd let her do what she wants

Different snake altogether but the only time my carpet will use a hide is if he's going into shed. Granted they are semiarboreal, but he'll spend most his time up on his shelf or pole.

She roams a little bit but mostly just hangs in one spot.

If you have a tub setup and it's always dark in there, she might just be comfortable enough to not use a hide. If she still eats and is behaving normally, I wouldn't stress about it too much.

If she was constantly roaming I'd imaging something needs tweaking, but as she's resting on the outside I'd say your girl feels nice and secure . Having as many balls as you do I'm sure you would know when something doesn't seem right
