Question Blood Python problem PLEASE HELP.. its bad

so i just got a new baby blood python and hes awesome, i noticed when i hold him that all of the side of his belly scales are flaky and all stick out and it feels really weird when i hold him, i dont think it scale rot. i have no clue what it is, thought it was a bad shed so ive been soaking him in warm water, putting neosporin on his whole belly, i just dont know what it is. it just all on the side and its kinda like poky-ish, literally all of each scale on the side sticks out a bid and poky and feels really weird when i hold him and its very dry, i keep him in a good humity bedding and have it perfect for a blood python, he had it when i got him but i didnt think it was a big deal and now im very worried. please email me so i can send pics of it if you know what it might be and how i can fix it, thank you i hope someone can help me. im desperately in need because i cant afford a vet visit and i also cannot let him die.

Quit putting stuff on there IMMEDIATELY. ESPECIALLY the neo. It sounds to me like it's either just the way the scales bends from coiling one direction all the time or the snake managed to get in a tight squeeze and damaged the scales. Do not ever use neosporin on a snake without any visible flesh wounds. Neosporin is bad for them and should still even be used sparingly if they are injured. Unless the scales are discolored it's likely from some minor damage or is just the way her scales bend and you can't do anything about it but to wait for her to shed

You say a baby... Do you know the months and weight? My hatchlings will dry out sometimes when they have only had 1 shed... Also of one of the hatchlings are timid and stays in the hide on a heat mat for weeks there scales get dryed out. Dont panic that wont do you or your baby any good. You did the right thing so far so get some pics to John the MOD until yo can learn how to post from Photobucket or something.
