    Herpstat set up help!

So my herpstat intro+ FINALLY came in. How much substrate should I have over the probe so that the temperature that it is set to will be the same in the enclosure?

    Thanks!

All of it. The herpstat probe goes on the OUTSIDE of the enclosure. sandwiched between your heat source and the enclosure. You then use your thermometer to tell you whether you need to increase or decrease the setting on your new Herpstat.

    Re: Herpstat set up help!

Ok so when I got everything that I thought I needed before I found this thread, I had already put the UTH on the bottom of the enclosure. So at the moment I have the herpstat probe in the tank and taped it down. Can I carefully peel the UTH off to set it up like the picture?

Tape never goes in the enclosure.

You can carefully peel the mat off and cover it in foil tape so it is reusable and then use foil tape along the edges to reattach it.

Make sure it's foil tape, not duct tape. Foil tape is sold at Walmart and should be at any hardware store.
