My dinker blade project start to finish

Ok so this all starts with my first ball python precious she's just a normal female and then Gary my dinker blade spider

This is Gary at 2 months old I had gotten him from a breeder getting out of breeding he wanted 400 I talked him down to 240 as he said it's just a nice normal spider but spiders were 150 at the time but that was the only one around so I said ok I'll get it

Precious the day she came home from the petstore and around a year old and 800 grams

Precious now about a month ago

This is Gary about a month or 2 back still nice bright and golden

Just random pictures of his baby blade I kept and as you can see theirs something up with him and it all started with me thinking hey why are you soo bright Gary and have 0 dots

This is the sibling poss blade spider also male so i sold him to a good friend and said when you breed let me know and send pictures of his babies

So this is what I have so far and I didn't breed this year as I had other more important projects to me to work on but next season I'm breeding both Gary the dad and the blade son to 2 females hopefully hitting on a female to hold back to make a super hopefully lol but just reproducing more normal or morph blades would be exciting as I've done some research about what certain morphs I have will look like with blade in it but I also have a theory on how I got the blade spider in the first place he may have came from a clutch that was from a clown or spider clown because from what I read it first appeared in the clown gene so I think he was working on the bumblebee clown and I got a baby that was from a het to het pairing or something like that I don't believe he is carrying the clown gene but I haven't bred him back to a baby so he could be but I don't think so but only way I think blade got into it but it could have came from another morph any thoughts?

Certainly looks like blade, but unless you can definitively find it in his lineage I would hesitate to call it that. Definitely exciting. What was the pairing that produced your original male "blade" spider?

That is what I tried finding out while buying it but he wouldn't tell me anything beside it's just a spider but he wanted 450 for him when spiders were going for 150 and I ended up paying 240 and he was very drunk when he dropped it off and it was like 130 am lol he needed more party money I guess and why I never really thought he knew exactly what it was himself but I'm going to continue breeding to see if I get a super form and that's when I'll be 100% sure it's a blade but like you said the one baby spider that was blade I only sold as a spider for 100$ but this baby will never be bred and why I let it go

Re: My dinker blade project start to finish

I just love the head pattern on Gary's head I've always called them antlers as that what it looked like to me and I remember someone saying once they thought they're was something up with my original spider male because of his funky head pattern but at that point I had already decided he was going to be bred to a normal first of to figure out what's in their as I should only get spiders and normals but that's not what happened well what I thought happened because my blade actually looked like a spider when I saw its back but didn't see him fully till he hatched
