    Incomplete Shed on BP Head

    Hey guys,
My girl is just over a year old and has always had perfect sheds until this last one. There is a patch on her head that I cannot get to come off no matter what I try.

So far I've tried the following:
    - Soaked in a bin with an inch of warm water
    - placed in a warm bin with a wet warm towel.
    - wet warm pillowcase
    - increased humidity in entire tank.
    - wet moss in both hides.

Based on the attached pics, would you suggest I keep trying? Or do you think she'll be ok until next shed?

    Thanks so much guys!

Leave it alone. No good will come from messing with it more. Get your humidity correct and it will fix itself.

Re: Incomplete Shed on BP Head

Ok thanks so much for answering. I was just worried that patch would cause a problem for her next shed.

Strangely enough, the humidity was 65% when she shed this time, same as it always is. But for some reason this time it came off in pieces. The only difference was that I just got her 2 larger hides because she out grew the first ones. Maybe the new ones are too big and she can't get enough contact.

The larger hides may also be keeping a lower humidity level. Try placing damp moss in each hide to boost the humidity a bit. This is a great trick as it keeps the humidity high in the hides where the snake is most of the time without having to fight the entire cage humidity.

Re: Incomplete Shed on BP Head

Yes, I added wet moss to both hides as soon as I saw this shed wasn't complete. I think I'm going to look for a couple more closed in hides because the openings on the 2 I have now are way too big I think.
