So the whole reason I now have around 30 snakes and few other reptiles is because about 4 years ago i decided to buy my first ball python to get over my fears of touching a snake first and others lol I never handled or touched a wild or captive snake before someone else did to see how it reacted and eventually stopped handling in all even though I was soo fascinated by them and for 4 years of me wanting one my gf at the time said I will leave and never come back if you buy a snake lol so I waited after we broke up and while with someone else she wanted a bearded dragon I wanted a ball python so we agreed if I bought a ball python she would get a bearded dragon lol so it was about 3 to 4 months of looking at pet stores and at this time I had no idea of the online world of reptiles lol I had almost bought a pastel but decided the normal was prettier in my eyes and she was around 8 months old the youngest so I bought her for about 140ish with taxes and was extremely happy and shortly after I bought a pair of het albinos from Henry piorun after hearing about him through some friends after posting pictures and I have grown from their and i will handle any snake without being scared of him or her biting and I've learned alot since buying her and still learn everyday in this hobby and that's one of my favorite things due to my adhd and I swear I have a mild form of ocd because when I get into something I like lol like reptiles I will spends hours and hours reading and researching and asking questions because not everything is true and why I like to sort out the bs and by doing so I have met many wonderful people who share the same passion for raising and breeding their reptiles or others such as insects I do have a colony of Roaches their more pets then food as I only have 1 bearded dragon to feed but like I said it all started with 1 ball python and now I have snakes a tortiose a bearded dragon some Roaches and even Oscar's but that's cause I always remember my grandma's as a little kid but I want to hear other stories of people getting over their fears of reptiles of even insects by buying one for the first time and after it growing into a huge passion and collection I love hearing stories like this or even dinker projects it's just exciting and awesome to hear other people who were once not so big a fan as they are now
This is precious my first ball python and snake I ever bought but not my first snake I was once that kid who caught and kept garter snakes I still do catch but I take pics weights and measure them also record what part of the research Forrest found in and I even found a northwestern alligator lizard only one in 3 years of doing this I have seen turtles never been able to catch and record them but I've also seen many toad and frog species sorry for the little rant lol I do that alot
