Well... I finally got one of those emails

I had posted an ad on craigslist weeks ago about looking for a local feeder rat breeder, and I finally got the uneducated hate mail! LOL.

Something along the lines of "why don't you put the snake back in the wild where it belongs?" along with swear words and much anger.

WOO I guess we all go down that train some day if we post about snakes eating food on something like craigslist.

Yikes! That's unfortunate! i do advise feeding in separate enclosure and fresh kill if you can. I used a pair of tongs to do a short "puppet show", and mine struck inside of 5 to 30 seconds. They are now used to warmed up frozen and they both strike very fast. Ignore the haters. I do run into a few people who disagree. I do not ever feed live because my snake could get hurt.

Oh man, I wish I said that now hahah. I lamely replied a couple realistic sentences about how ball pythons are from Africa and would die in the wild here. And something about PETA induced ideologies.

I'll save the lecture for if you're asking questions. But the hatchling I was looking for live for has already taken five F/T meals now, she's successfully converted. Just forgot to take down my ad LOL.

I lost my cat once and put up LOST ads on CL and my local paper.

I got voicemails from 2 different people - berating me for letting my cat escape and 1 from a person who told me how incredibly cruel I was because she was wearing a collar. (It was a break away collar too.)

    Basically... people suck.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Hope you find some feeders soon though

Geez... sorry that happened. I think that's so much worse, being a lost pet. People do suck! And many are somewhere between quite dumb and brainless idiots.

Kind of off topic but feeding a snake in a separate enclosure is bad advice. There is no advantage whatsoever to it. Only disadvantages. I'm not going to go into it but that was an old wives tale which has been disproved over and over and over.

Also switching to F/T has benefits, one the biggest imo is less chance of your snake ingesting parasites although it doesn't kill 100% of everything.

I love pushing those types of peoples buttons. I love when people threaten me, as I just push their buttons even more, not that I wouldn't give them a chance to try if they feel like they can lol.

LOL. I feel like it would be more fun to do that if it were someone I actually knew, and not some rando.
