Substrate for when the eggs are laid?

I'm wondering what is a best substrate that I currently have for when the eggs are laid while I'm not home? On paper towel, shredded aspen, or eco earth?

Depends what you mean by not being home if it's a one day thing anything will do (I don't always catch clutches in the AM)

Now if it's several days make sure you have a bedding that holds humidity such as cypress mulch or coconut chips.

Yeah, it's a one day thing, if I am at work. So would eco earth be okay, or is it not good to have some sticking to the eggs after I put it in the incubator? I'm thinking if it would cause mold on the egg.

It will be fine the only thing is to make sure it's not damp which it should not be anyway, that's what I use for colubrid and gecko eggs.
