Spiders (and other bugs) and ball pythons
Hi everyone:
I am going to be getting a rack system, and I am thinking about putting it in my basement office space. The thing is, the basement space do have spiders (just common household stuff). Does anyone know the effect of spider bites on ball pythons? Or even how ball pythons deal with cohabiting with spiders? I have been searching on the internet, and they are either talking about Spiders as in Spider ball pythons, or bites of ball pythons, or the effect of seriously venomous spiders on snakes... nothing really I can use?
What are your experiences on this?
Annie

I typically treat my room with Permethrin at least once every couple of weeks. Baseboards and areas they might be found. Because you clean and water there typically isn't any risk of spider getting on or in the rack.

I don't think an average house spider has the power to bite through scales.

Unless you have some other bug infestation that would nest up in the racks there's no reason the spiders would. If you do, that's a different problem that should be addressed.

I occasionally find a house spider in Yigg's tank, hanging out in the aspen bedding. So far it hasn't seemed to bother him, but I always try to scoop it out if I can, just in case. If he's gotten a bite, I've never noticed.
