What kind of heat sources are you using now, and how are they being regulated?
I don't think they are...
Kath, you HAVE to get a thermostat for at least the hot spot. Your snake is depending on you for it. It MUST stay at a constant 90 degrees, give or take 2 or 3.
The breeder I got him from gave me a red heat lamp and an UTH pad and said the UTH was "thermostat controlled" and said that meant it regulated itself. I wasn't given any kind of thermostat or regulation method for either source but it's still my fault for being ignorant. I'm going to get a thermostat today for precise control. Right now the hot side has stayed at 87, fluctuating to 88 once in a while, but I'm still getting a thermostat.

The so called "Thermostat controlled UTH" can and will reach 120 degrees in the right condition (I actually tested some myself that are not supposed to get over 95), a UTH MUST ALWAYS be controlled regardless of the manufacturer's claim and the "breeder" should have known better.
