Need some recommendation

So I have a 1 month old ball I got from petsmart he is in a 10 gallon tank and his temps are 95hot 85 cool side. He currently has 1 medium sized tree hide that he can also climb on as well as use it for shelter but he seems to change his mind quite often during the day he rather be out and about and at night he hides more in the tree I notice at night that he sometimes will slither over to the cool side and rest his body on the glass. But after a few he goes back to the tree after stopping for a drink I'm not sure if that is something normal for him to be doing or not I'm getting a 20 gallon tank this week to see if that will even out the cool side temps for me as 85ish seems to maybe be a little to warm for him also his humidity I like to keep at 59 to 63 percent

I would drop the hot side down to around 90F and cool side down to around 78-80F. Humidity, I would do between 60-70. I try and keep all my gals and guy except my carpet and dumerils at around 65% humidity. I keep the dumerils and carpet at around 60%.

As for hides, I would put 2 in there. One on the cool side and one on the hot side so the snake can make a choice without sacrificing security. Try and use the same hides for both sides as sometimes snakes like a certain hide and will sacrifice cooling/warming in favor of that hide.

Usually BPs don't move much during the day unless they are uncomfortable. My gal never comes out during the day unless she is going from one hide to another. At night though, she is all over but come morning, she goes back into one hide or another.

Honestly if you are looking to upgrade caging, my advice is buy a PVC cage instead of another tank. Much better and more secure for your snake. There are tons out there. Animal Plastics is my vote. Best bang for the buck and they offer so many customizations like shelves, LED lights, locks, swing or sliding glass or acrylic doors etc.

So my temps are being monitored digitally along with the humidity and I'm using a black heat light and also a uth pad I went ahead and lifted my lap higher off the enclosure and got my temps between 88 and 90 the cool side is at a solid 82 degrees now so I think I figured out the heating now. I would love to just use uth but it gets to cold if I shut off the light and I am new to this so I don't know how to regulate my heat lamp and my pad like I said I just lifted the lamp up higher to cool the temps down but for the heating pad its just plugged in the wall I have about a inch of ecoearth above it

UNPLUG your heat mat until you can get a thermostat or dimmer for it.
You still didn't answer my question: HOW are you measuring your temperatures???

If you are using a stick on gauge? Are you using a probe thermometer? Using a temp gun?

You need to check your temperatures on the hottest surface your animal can touch....... This would be under the substrate.
Your heat mat is probably well over 100+ degrees.
A heat mat used under the enclosure is used for a hot spot and when properly regulated does nothing for ambient temperatures.

Okay so I unplugged the heat mat for now but the thing I'm using to get the temps is a digital thermometer like the ones you can place inside his enclosure and will read how hot it is in there but thanks you for the picture diagram that way I know how to set everything up when I get it I'm also going to purchase a thermal gun to measure ground temps as well cause I'm thinking the digital one is reading air temp not ground temp as you said
