It can be frustrating when people tell your that your instincts are wrong, especially when you're trying to do the right thing. I'm a newbie, so I know. In the end, your scaly friend is 100% reliant on you, and that is why the experts here are being short with you. I doubt they're trying to be personal, they just want to give you realistic advice on what will and won't work. Walking away isn't going to make anything better for Cookie or you.
What helped me was to try and think like the snake. He's a tiny guy with instincts evolved from the African Savannah! Everything huge and noisy there will eat or squish him. There is absolutely nothing he likes better than a quiet, dark, warm safe place to grow. You can be a part of that safe place with quiet rare handling, but the confidence will come from him feeling secure in his enclosure.
I'd try putting a blanket/beach towel to cover the entire enclosure. It'll bump the ambient temp a few degrees and will dampen out the light and noise of the room around him and help keep in humidity.

I wouldn't leave because of you feeling a certain kind of way. It's not that anybody is being mean or picking on you, we just want what's best for your BP. You've done some things that most people wouldn't do, more so without even asking for advice, but all everybody is trying to get you to understand that we have a lot of experience, and if you listen to us and take our advice, you'll end up with a much happier BP.

So good morning.

Re: Good bye
Predictible if you ask me, over the last 10 years on this forum we had quite a few people like yourself
The MO is usually as followed
1/ Person ask for advice, refuse to listen telling experienced owners they know nothing.
2/ Their attitude and unwillingness to listen turn every thread into a circus
3/ After a while a public apology is offered.
4/ Things cool down and people offer a second chance.
5/ Back to the same old "I won't listen" and the attitude that comes with it.
6/ More drama
7/ A dramatic goodbye.
Next move? Well usually after all that people can't help themselves and comeback, because the goodbye was just an attempt to make people feel sorry.
This forum is no different than real life and if the "I know everything and I won't listen to you" attitude is to to be expected from a teenager people usually expect better from a mature adult and will not tolerate it for very long.
Everything that has happened here is on YOU, YOU brought this on yourself no one else and if you are not willing to change it will keep happening no matter where you go, it is that simple.

Oh well, I just feel bad for Wheatley. He is most likely sick and completely dependent on you, and you're on the internet doing stuff like this.
