This forum is a warm bowl of tomato soup. (And a side of grilled cheese) Those of you from the north or north east probably know exactly what I mean. Those cold winter days when either:
    A) you are snowed in and cant' get to the grocery store or
    B) a parental unit is feeling as relaxed as a child on a snow day and so, a gourmet comfort meal is presented: This being of course: Tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (I prefer velveeta as it melts so easily). Anyways just wanted to let you guys know that at the end of a stressful day or in the middle of a crappy work day this forum is like tomato soup and grilled cheese on a cold day.

 It's good for you.

EDIT : forgot the "u" in Gourmet - making the word Gormet which I'm sure is a misspelling of Wallace's companion

No explanation necessary here, Jonah. Tomato soup and grilled cheese is my youngest son's favorite thing to eat, and I find it pretty tasty too, not to mention comforting.

You don't have to be a child to enjoy grilled cheese and tomato soup, YUM!! And, what a great analogy for our community!

I love this post Jonah! And I'm from Southern California, and I LOVE tomato soup and grilled cheese. In fact, I now know what I am having for dinner tonight.... Tomato soup and grilled cheese, in your honor!

That reminds me of a funny story. A co-worker was talking about working at home on some things with his wife. Well, he is not very patient, and she's not too quick, so at one point he got so exasperated with her, he yells, "You're as f*@#$ed up as a soup sandwich!!". He said she just looked at him puzzled for a little bit, then asks, "Why are you calling me a grilled cheese?" LMAO when I heard it, how she missed the point, yet put those two together. No, he is not a very nice guy, but its still funny.
