    BP pix and more!

i braved the "biggest storm in 50 yrs" yesterday to attend Day 1 of the Seattle Reptile Expo. here's some pix. enjoy!

2 nice Mystic Potions - a clean one and one w/ reduce pattern. also great dal on Super Mojo.

very nice Pastel Enchi Mojo at the bottom there:

    big display

    nice size, well started GTP!

    Mangrove Snakes!

    pregnant rodents for sale

super deal on a Retic and enclosure!

    WHOA!!

    i needa closer look!

    beautiful!

Banana girls galore! good deals too!

BRB's (i actually bought a hatchling rack from this lady awhile back)

    more GTP's and stuff!

cool! a scaleless Silkie (Bearded Dragon)

my friend's at HDI and Reptile Snack Shack's impressive displays:

that's like 100 stacks worth of BP's right. Doug, the breeder, believes the Rogue is a different line, his line, of the Acid gene that J-Royals is also working on.

    Rogue bellies

i think this was a Gargoyle Rogue. (probably wrong tho.)

I forget what these are. Super Pastel Spider something...

    new gene called Shard

HDI also had a clutch of beautiful Snows that i thought i took pix of.

    bioactive tanks ready to go!

    cool skulls

    some big ol' loungin' lizards

this man is writing up my receipt...

    ... b/c
i got a nice lil MBK!

i showed amazing restraint and only walked away with 2 bricks of coco husk to try, some hides and a humble MBK. i was so close to picking up a 0.1 Banana combo...

a few more pix here -

i forgot to include this pix of this tiny, useless scale. the guys opened one to hilariously tried to demo it for me. what’s this supposed to weigh – pinkies?

also i should mention there was a lack of Axolotl’s at the show. and the Uroplatus gecko breeder i saw last spring was MIA. (actually a few breeders and vendors cancelled due to the storm.)

lastly, i felt like such a tire kicker – drooling over those half-dozen Banana combo girls. I asked about the confirmation of the Banana gene in that awesome 0.1 Banana Phantom Russo poss. YB and the lady got freakin’ Carson Phelps on the phone for me! she’s his West Coast partner/distributor or something. lol i was sooo embarrassed. i don’t remember everything, but he has female Banana makers or something. Besides me asking a bunch of questions, we talked about our collection, projects, etc. and she made 2 sales while i was there. in the end, i apologized and had to walk away. she was nice and cool with it. i think she still found shooting the breeze with me interesting (i hope).

Nice show! I'm not sure how they can tell that there's banana in that one and pretty sure I was skeptical when I saw it on morph market a week or 2 ago. Opal diamonds and just about every BEL Russo combo end up with the faint yellow and pink markings. I'm sure it's not impossible, I'm just not seeing what they are sure is the gene.

Red face Got a new Ball Python yesterday! Help me identify it?

Whoa! Awesome pics, I've never even seen some of those. Maybe you can help me identify what my newest baby is?

So, I work at Petco and every now and then the vendor screws up and we get some beautiful color morphs that are still priced like regular morphs, just because of how Petco's inventory system works. My manager listed this one as a Vanilla Spider but I think she's mistaken. Personally I think he's a Genetic Stripe Spider, with maybe some Cinnamon and Vanilla mixed in. He was only $40! No, not four HUNDRED, FORTY. What a steal.

Eventually I'd like to breed him because I think he's so pretty, but I really don't know for sure what he is, because everyone has told me different. Here's some pictures:

His stripe is nearly unbroken and goes all the way from head to tail. in the second picture you can see he has a very slightly yellow belly. What intrigued me about the third is he has this spray of cinnamon colors where the main color meets the belly color, and this goes all the way down his body. Thanks for the help! If you need better pictures I'll gladly take more!

Wonderful show! Thanks for sharing, I especially find your pictures of the Rogue gene interesting. Just the other day I saw some pictures of acid combos and they blew me away, and the rogues are just as impressive-- love the dark bellies.

Also, lovely pickup! Mexican Black Kings are always so gorgeous.

Thanks for the tour of the show Ax, good job! And congrats on your MBK!
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

Did you happen to see Thomas with Northwest Reptiles? He said he sold a few Mystic Potions and Super Mojaves. I've been talking to him lately since he's holding a Fire for me.

the vendor got the breeder on the phone. he has a female maker, so every female that comes out is a Banana. i think that's how it works. she's a powerhouse and steal for the asking price.

looks like a reduced pattern Spider to me, maybe it has Vanilla. doesn't look like a Motley Bee (Spider G-Stripe) to me. G-Stripes are recessives, do u know how those genes work in breeding? also Spiders often have speckling that's white, yellow, gold or orange coming up the belly along the sides. u can ask for more morph ID by posting your own thread here, or ask genetics questions here or ask breeding questions here.

HDI and J-Royals are going in different directions w/ their Rogue and Acid genes. HDI has alotta Killer/Super Pastel, Cinny and HRA stuff; J-Royals is working w/ other base morphs - Pin, Lesser, YB, etc. the base Rogue and Acid are like identical tho.
