I just wanted to let you guys know that based on a tip from G4tech TV, I have switched browsers from Microsoft IE to Mozilla Firefox. And I couldn't be happier!! This browser really is quite amazing and it's a free download... to check it out go see www.G4techtv.com not sure what section it is under ... try clicking on "gear"

Mozilla just released FireFox 1.0PR. It has some really great features in it, and i'll swear it loads faster than IE does. I have used it for about 6 months now, and if i could uninstall IE I would . Best of all: its free to download! The official site for it is: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ . Thanks Jonah!

they installed firefox on all of our machines at work and at first i was like, ok whatever, just another browser to have to test my sites in (i'm a web designer). but then i started using it and really liking it, so now i have it on my computer at home too. i have a mac at home and suddenly movies and sites and things that didn't work properly in IE were working just fine in firefox. yeah!

Led I completely agree with you - I really feel like pages load faster, and the way it's set up is so complementary to pages as far as its relatively minimalistic design. It's the best thing to happen to me since I built my new computer (aside from MUCH improved performance and super awesome Counter Strike graphics as opposed to my old Dell standard Yuck 1.0 video card and probably like an 800Mhz processor)

    COUNTER STRIKE LowDown:
Counter strike is a magnificent online multiplayer First Person Shooter game that has won the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands throughout the world. There are a few versions so I will give you the run down: The premise is this, you can be either Terrorist or Counter-Terrorist. Most major organizations are featured such as the British SAS, the US SEALS, the French, and Russians are also featured... can't recall the other one or two. Terrorists are everything from Middle Eastern terrorists to Midwest Militia (in US). The array of weapons is quite amazing. Terrorists can use a derivative of the AK while the standard CT weapon is the M-14 (or is it 15?) Anyways, there is no spawning and if you catch about five bullets you're dead until the round has ended (much like paintball).

Half Life - Counter Strike: Counter strike originally began as a MOD or modification of the Half-Life gaming engine and thus was released as a seperate title once its popularity spread. I believe this version is still available retail for around $20 - but to use it you will need to download and register "Steam" - the online component of the game that enables you to search for servers and play online. This can be found at http://www.steampowered.com (NOTE: Counter-Strike Condition Zero, or CSCZ as it is commonly refered to as also uses steam but if you purchase CSCZ steam automatically is installed with the game.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero: While this game runs on the same basic engine as HLCS the graphics are immensely improved, the character models more detailed and varied (Midwest Militia is avail on this version but no HLCS (I think.) also the weapons have been updated. Another great feature is a one player mode where you fight through with a team on various difficulties and are awarded medals and also a BOT mode enabling server admins and players alike the ability to play against bots of a user set difficulty. The AI is pretty decend you'll even find some of the bots camp on top of crates and such.

To wrap up this is the basic gist of it - there are other versions I believe but these are the most popular and for your money 20 for HLCS I think and about 35 or 40 for CS:CZ I really think CZ is worth it if you are buying it for the first time or buying it because you lost your key. YOU CANNOT SHARE DISKS anymore - they got wise and now require you register your CD Reg so other keys will not work you must buy and own the disk to play. Another advantage of CSCZ is that you can practice in one player or against bots so you don't go on public servers and get anihilated. Also some people on these servers can be quite annoying. I personally play with (this is NOT a clan, there are no time requirements, practices or competitions, basically you can be a part of it as long as you agree to follow rules such as no swearing on the server, no cheating, and overall decency... I think we here would all qualify.) Krazed Alloys. For more info on them check out Http://www.KrazedAlloys.com I am not very good yet and my name in the game is:
    Krazed Alloys I Capt. America
so if you ever have about 40 bucks to drop it is definately worth picking up. A headset is nice to have as well as you can use your Mic to communicate during matches, but you can also type if you don't feel like buying a mic. I recc. you have at least a 1.5 Ghz processor and at least 256mb RAM as the new game runs more on processor than video card. A good video card always helps though, even a bottom of the line ATI should be just great.... to order that check out http://www.newegg.com If you like competition and are familiar with FPS on PC it is DEFINATELY worth checking out and CZ is worth the 40 buck IMO.
