Re: are these thermostats ok
Myself and several others have thermostats by hyrdofarm. Looks very similar in design of the ones you posted.
Which ever one you choose, make sure to place the probe in between the heating pad and the bottom of your habitat.
Ex. Sandwich between top of heating pad, and bottom of glass tank if you're using glass.

Ideally, you want a proportional thermostat. I don't think these are.
I recommend vivarium electronics or herpstat

A proportional thermostat constantly adjusts temp, thus keeping a constant temp. Non proportional will come on and off usually at a variance of a couple degrees, thus creating temp swings. If you set a non proportional to say 85 degrees, it might not come on until temps fall to 83 and not shut off until it hits 87. Proportional will maintain a steady 85.

Vivarium Electronics.

These are the basic models, there are higher end ones that support more probes for a larger collection.

Totally reasonable, start with a Hydro Farm. And upgrade down the line to a proportional one.

A lot of people don't. They are nice and more reliable, but not required. Do the Jumpstart from Amazon if budget is a problem. If you're just running a UTH, the on/off thermostat will work fine.
