Cage too big for baby?

I'll be getting my first ball python soon. I got a V332 Vision Cage and my only concern is that it might be a bit too big for a baby. Vision Cages are expensive so I wanted one that would be big enough for my snake's adulthood instead of having to get another one that I'll only use for a year. Would it be okay if I filled the cage with a lot of plants and decor to fill up space and make the baby feel more secure or would that not work?

That's an option, though ideally would be the get the correct size cage, but I understand your point of Vision Cages being expensive. Just try to crowd the cage with stuff that will eliminate ground space.

Yeah jam pack it with plants and extra hide the more crammed it is the more secure my boy feels as he came with a viv so couldn't say no really, but at least it will last us.

Provide lots of different hides, and lots of visual barriers. Set it up so the snake can get from the cool side to the warm side without being seen if it wants to. You can use boxes, bowls, sticks for climbing, broken flower pots, etc. A baby who has only lived in a shoebox in a rack before will have some settling in to do for sure, but after that should be OK.
