Some banana madness from my two clutches this season

So, as some may know, I took about a 20 year break from breeding ball pythons for many reasons, but instead focused solely on my Boa imperator and Corallus speces. Well, from a trade last year I started to acquire a select group of ball pythons, mainly in trades, and this year decided to pair some up. THe male I used is a stunning Banana lesser (pictured), and he was bred to a Pastel Genetic stripe and a Mojave. The result was a combined 9 eggs, 6 and 3 respectively, and they were incubated at 88oF. All hatched and from the first clutch I got 0.1 normal, 0.1 pastel, 0.1 pastel lesser, 1.0 banana, 1.0 banana lesser, and 1.0 banana lesser pastel (all het genetic stripe). The second clutch is a bit of a head scratcher. What I thought I hatched our was 0.1 Blue eyed leucistic, 1.0 Banana mojave, and 1,0 lesser. Well, it looks like something else might be at play here. Either the lesser is a banana lesser, or there is hypo involved here also. Thoughts are much appreciated.

    Banana Lesser het genetic stripe

Banana pastel lesser het genetic stripe

Clutch 2 (ignore the blackhead red gene. I included that for contrast).

    Banana mojave?

    Lesser?

    And here is the dad.

Once the BEL sheds I will get a picture of her. Her head is almost translucent.

    Thanks for looking.

They all look amazing! Grats. Maybe thats the way the genes reacted to each other. Genetics is not a exact science. Maybe the female of clutch 2 was het for hypo / ghost?

I am don't think hypo is involve I am thinking there is definitely something however the Mojave banana is too dark for just being a Mojave banana and if hypo was involved it would give it an even brighter softer tone....definitely interesting, did you send those pic to Limey to see what he though of them?

    Hi Deborah,
I did send them to Limey. He was also stumped. Pictures of the lesser sent to various people have all come back with hypo lesser. Limey's advice was to hold them back and bred back to the mother. Not exactly what I want to do, lol. I don't need another project. I will keep an eye on their next sheds and see how they develop over the next few months. then update people with new pics.
