Help with dry skin on my BP's head?

Hello! I just got a baby ball python about five days ago. I just recently noticed some dry skin on top of his head. I hear it could be from a dry shed, but I don't remember him having it when I got him. He has also been rubbing his head on the top of the screen cage to find an escape, which could be the cause. Should I be concerned about this, and will he be okay? Thanks for the help!

What is his cage set up? Temp? Humidity? The screen top might be letting all your humidity out.

I have a hot side of about 88-90 degrees and a cold side of about 80-82. I have a heat lamp and a UTH. The substrate is cypress mulch and he has two hides on either side with a water bowl. The humidity is usually 50-55 percent, and I will spray the cage if it gets below 50. I have a cloth over half of the screen top to try and hold in some of the humidity.

Sounds all good, since the humidity is probably even high down by the substrate compared to where the probe is. It could be that the shed was stuck when you got him and is coming lose now that he's in a better conditions if he was in super low humidity at the pet store. Pics would help.
