Cause for Concern?

I'm probably being over-cautious, but would rather be safe than sorry. Had our little guy out today and noticed these spots on his belly scales. He had something similar in two different locations, but was only able to manage a picture of one of the spots.


As for husbandry, I have him in a 41qt Sterilite tub, aspen bedding. I have thermal tape on cool and warm side maintained with a Herpstat 2 - hot side is set to 94°F and cool side to 84°F. Ambient temp in tank around 80°F and humidity is 50%. He has RB hides on each side and a small water dish.

Is this something typical?

Not sure on the little spots, but do always keep your heat tape at those temps? With an ambient of 80, I'd turn the cool side tape off and save yourself a few pennies. Also, I don't see any reason to go over 90 for warm spot temps.

It probably is unnecessary. i originally put in two separate heat tapes since my house is cold, but I added a space heater several weeks ago because my ambient was 70°F and my humidity was >90%.
